Blueprint

As part of the Orvis Artist-In-Residence program with the Honolulu Museum of Art, Ualani Davis and Brandon Ng collaborated to create a portrait of the museum’s Spalding House location as a site-specific installation piece, combining hand-applied photographic techniques and visitor interaction with the gallery’s space.  Utilizing visitor participation and the cyanotype process to print on large stretches of fabric, Davis and Ng produced a 3-D blueprint of the museum.  Going beyond the physical description of Spalding House, they encompassed the environment as a whole: a landscape, gathering place, and web of human relationships.
